Our Legacy

RSL Queensland was founded in the spirit of mateship, originally established to assist veterans navigating the hardships of life after World War I. In 1956, we launched the very first Dream Home Art Union - a creative and sustainable way to raise funds for our mission.

Nearly seven decades later, this initiative has evolved into Australia’s largest prize home lottery, offering over $65 million in prizes throughout 2025. Every ticket purchased helps fund vital services for veterans and their families, including advocacy, employment pathways, and wellbeing initiatives - empowering them to build fulfilling lives after service.

In a nod to our roots, we’ve proudly reinstated our original name from 1956, Dream Home Art Union. This name reflects our rich heritage and continued commitment to delivering life-changing opportunities through premium prize homes.

While the name may have changed, our dedication to supporting the veteran community remains as strong as ever.

How the Dream Home Art Union Works

Unlike traditional lotteries, an art union operates more like a raffle - each draw guarantees a winner.

With your support, we’ve grown into the nation’s premier prize home lottery, featuring luxurious home draws, showcasing breathtaking properties in idyllic locations, featuring beachfront ocean views, luxurious hinterland estates and high-end finishes.

Tickets start at just $5, giving you the chance to win a dream home while directly contributing to programs that support veterans and their families.

RSL Queensland’s Impact in 2024

RSL Queensland provides practical support, assistance, advice and camaraderie to current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families across Queensland and nationally.

Our mission is to provide care, commemoration and camaraderie to enable veterans and their families to live with dignity and respect. It's our guiding light and underpins all that we do.
