Mater Prize Home Winner’s Story
To celebrate the new draw, we’re bringing you the story of the lucky Mater Prize Home winner of draw 279!
When Michael and his wife Jane were driving, they received a call from an unknown number. They joked that they had better answer, as the Mater Prize Home draw was being drawn that day. Lucky they did answer – it was the CEO Nigel Harris calling to advise that they had won!
The couple were in shock as they learned they were the first prize winners of an incredible $1.6 million home on the Gold Coast, and $100,000 of gold bullion!
As a long time supporter of Mater Prize Home, Michael says it was a personal choice to join in 2013.
“I bought the tickets not so much hoping to win—well you always hope you win—but to help with research, as we’d lost my mother to Breast cancer.”
When asked what the win meant to the family, Michael was excited.
“It means financial security, and not having to worry about the future.”
