Tassie man scores entire $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot with ticket sold by Oz Lotteries!

A Tasmanian man has been confirmed as the sole Division 1 winner of Oz Lotto Draw 1633 on June 3 2025, taking home a $70 million prize purchased through Oz Lotteries. This marks the second-largest individual Oz Lotto prize in the game’s 31-year history.

Winner Confirmed After Early-Morning Check

The soon-to-be retiree first checked his Oz Lotteries account shortly after 11pm on Tuesday and continued to log in well into the early hours of Wednesday. An Oz Lotteries representative phoned him later that morning to confirm that his 18 standard-game entry had matched all seven main numbers—44, 34, 45, 1, 46, 25, and 21—with supplementary numbers 9, 14, and 16. In addition to the Division 1 prize, he also secured a Division 7 win.

“I have hardly slept all night. I was wondering if I was dreaming, and I was going to wake up and someone was going to say it was all just a dream,” the winner said upon receiving the news.

Despite the ongoing disbelief, he attended work on Wednesday morning before confirming that his life had changed forever.

“Oh wow. I don’t have to come to work anymore, it’s -1° here at the moment where I am working. I might just go and hand my resignation in right now,” he said. 

Plans for Retirement, Home Ownership, and Family Support

With a fresh $70 million windfall, the Tassie man plans to retire immediately. He intends to purchase a home with his partner and assist family members as needed.

“Buying a dream home with my partner and helping my family out. Oh, this is brilliant, absolutely brilliant… I’ve had a [rough] couple of years. I am just getting back on my feet, and I still have a mortgage when everyone else [my age] is about to retire. I have been saying I will have to work until I am 70, but not now,” he said.
