The university student from Macgregor in Brisbane held the only division one winning entry in the 17 December 2020 draw. As the only winner in Powerball draw 1283, he’ll be taking home the entire $20 million jackpot! 

Upon learning the Powerball results, the man burst into a fit of laughter. He confessed to only buying the lucky ticket right before the draw close time. The student had been meaning to get a ticket earlier but was busy and only remembered late in the evening. 

Australia’s latest multi-millionaire shared that it was always a dream for him to win.

“Every time I’ve seen the news about a lottery winner, I’ve thought ‘that lucky guy, it’s going to be me next time.’”

It’s something most of us can only dream about. The latest Powerball winner is eager to step right into early retirement, giving up the exams and stress of studying. He is ready to focus on family and friends, excitedly saying, “I’m never going to work again!” 

While he’s overjoyed and eager to enjoy the financial freedom, the winner is also excited to share the windfall. 

“People give their whole lives to work, but I’m going to put my family and friends first.”  

“There’s also some charities I support and now I’ll be able to give them even more.”
