First introduced in New South Wales in 1979, Monday Lotto had expanded to every state in Australia by 2013. Also known as Gold Lotto in Queensland and X Lotto in South Australia, Monday Lotto is now a hugely popular, nationwide syndicated lotto.
Monday Lotto has a guaranteed Division 1 prize of $1 million that is available for up to 4 winners every single week. The draw takes place weekly on Monday nights (if the name didn’t already give it away!).
Monday Lotto is easy to play, and you can play for as little as $2.80 for 4 games. If you’re wondering how to play Monday Lotto, we’ve broken it down for you in 4 easy steps:
You have 4 different ways you can choose how to play Monday Lotto: Standard entry, System entry, Syndicate entry or a Super Combo entry.
Choose 6 numbers or use a QuickPick to randomly generate the numbers for you.
You can purchase your Monday Lotto ticket online or through the Oz Lotteries mobile app.
Make sure you enter before Monday at 7:25pm AEST/8:25PM AEDT.
Monday Lotto allows you to choose how often you would like to play. You can play for a few draws every week, or you can purchase a one-off ticket. You can also choose to set up AutoPlay to make life even easier. Setting up AutoPlay is simple and easy, and it means you’ll never miss another draw. AutoPlay also allows you to set a jackpot limit, so you’re only ever entered into draws that have reached a certain jackpot.
In Monday Lotto, you have the option to choose which way you’d like to play. You can pick from a Standard, System, Syndicate or Super Combo game.
This is the easiest way to play Monday Lotto and gives you 6 numbers per entry. With a Standard entry, you can choose your own numbers, or you can have the numbers randomly generated for you (QuickPick). With both types of entries, you get to choose how many games you’d like to play.
A Standard entry gives you 6 numbers, but a System entry allows you to choose 7 to 20 numbers. This not only gives you more chances to win but also gives you the chance to win across multiple divisions.
A Syndicate entry offers you more chances to win for less money. How? A Syndicate is made up of 10 shares (players), and you can buy one or more shares in a Syndicate ticket. The cost of the ticker is split up between the different shares equally. This way, you can afford to play more games with a syndicate than you would if you were playing on your own. If the syndicate wins, the prizes are shared equally among the syndicate shares.
A Super Combo entry is a combination between a Standard entry and a System entry. It allows you to play more numbers across as many games as you want (up to 200), and your selected numbers are then randomly combined across your games.

Every Monday evening, 6 main numbers and two supplementary numbers are randomly selected from a pool of 45 balls, with numbers 1 to 45. The first 6 balls drawn are the winning numbers. The final two balls are the supplementary numbers.
You need to match all six of your numbers to the winning six numbers of the draw to win the top prize (Division 1). To win the lowest prize (Division 6) you need to match at least 1 of your numbers plus 2 supplementary numbers to the winning numbers. The winning combinations for each division are:
|Division 1||6 winning numbers|
|Division 2||5 winning numbers + 1 supplementary number|
|Division 3||5 winning numbers|
|Division 4||4 winning numbers|
|Division 5||3 winning numbers + 1 supplementary number|
|Division 6||1 winning number + 2 supplementary numbers|
Oz Lotteries will automatically deposit your prize into your Oz Lotteries online account the day after the draw, as a tax-free lump sum. You can then withdraw any winnings via cheque, direct deposit or Paypal.
