Monday and Wednesday Lotto has a new look!

Monday and Wednesday Lotto has changed to a new look Weekday Windfall game, with the addition of a third game on Friday. The first Weekday Windfall draw was on Monday 20 May 2024.

It’s a family affair for the two Monday Lotto winners from a $1,000,000 draw. The winners, a couple in their sixties from the south-east Queensland city of Logan, and a syndicate of ten members from Parramatta in Sydney’s western suburbs, each took home $1,000,000 in prize money – and all the winners plan to help their families with the winnings.

The excited Logan couple both spoke to lottery officials on the phone after the winning husband couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “You’re joking!” he said, before passing the phone to his wife. She was no less shocked, saying “Are you serious? Hang on, I’ve got to sit down!”

The couple were told that their winning 12-game standard ticket, purchased from a local newsagency, had turned them into millionaires, to which the husband didn’t know how to respond. “I never thought I’d be a millionaire!” he said. “I don’t know what I’m feeling at the moment.”

He explained how he had started playing his Saturday Gold Lotto numbers in Monday Gold Lotto draws about six months ago. The wife said her husband arrived home after work each day asking if they had won Gold Lotto, and each day she would reply “not today”. But now that they have a win on the books, she said that it felt like their prayers had been answered.

They plan to use their winnings to afford a retirement home and “finally” retire. Retirement will give them the chance to visit and spend more time with their family – and they plan to do it in style! “We’ve always had on our bucket list to travel first class and now we can!”

Meanwhile in Parramatta, a syndicate of ten workmates from a transport company had “ten happy families celebrating” the news that they were all Division 1 winners sharing in $1,006,383.55. “We’re all married and we all have kids,” said the syndicate leader – and the windfall comes just in time for Mother’s Day!

The winning System 8 ticket, purchased from a local newsagency, used random numbers pulled from a bag which the syndicate had been playing for the past two years. The syndicate leader said that one of the members checked the winning numbers at midnight following the draw and promptly called everyone else to share the good news. “No-one has slept a wink since!”

When lottery officials called the syndicate leader to confirm the win, he told them that he still couldn’t believe it. “I can’t believe I’m even standing at the moment!” he said. He added that each of the syndicate members had their own special plans for their share of the prize money, including one man who had already been “out looking for new cars.”

You could be next, but you have to be in it to win it. You can get your official lottery tickets online up until 7pm AEST on the day of the draw.
