Full details: Set for Life Game Update FAQ

What would you do if you were given an upfront $200,000 plus $20,000 every month for 20 years? Would you renovate your home? Invest in your own small business? Buy a boat? Donate to your favourite charity? These are just some of the things past Set for Life Division 1 winners have said they use their ‘$20K on Replay’ for.

The Set for Life game became available to Oz Lotteries customers in early 2019. If you would like to take a shot at the Set for Life Division 1 prize, but aren’t sure where to start, we’ve created this handy guide on how to play the Set for Life game. Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about the Set for Life game and how you could win $200,000 upfront, plus $20,000 every month for 20 years!

What is the Set for Life game?

Unlike other lotteries that give you the chance to win a one-off lump sum, the Set for Life game is a lottery that gives you the chance to win $200,000 upfront, plus $20,000 per month for the next 20 years.

The other major difference between the Set for Life game and other lotteries is that you’re able to play your numbers across 7 consecutive daily draws. So instead of a weekly draw, the Set for Life game actually features a new draw every day.

How to play the Set for Life game

Playing the Set for Life game is simple. To play the Set for Life game and try your luck at winning the Division 1 prize, get started with these three easy steps:

1. Choose the way you want to play the Set for Life game

There are two different types of entries you can choose when you play the Set for Life game: a one-time entry or multiple-week entry. A one-time entry allows you to enter a ticket for one week’s worth of draws, which is 7 days consecutively. A multiple-week entry allows you to play the same numbers across multiple weeks of draws, up to 10 weeks in advance.

2. Select your numbers

You need to choose 7 numbers from 1 to 44. You can either choose your own numbers or you can have all 7 numbers randomly generated for you with a QuickPick.

3. Buy your ticket before the cut-off time

In order to enter the Set for Life draw, you need to make sure that you purchase your ticket before 8:55pm AEST/9:55pm AEDT to be in it to win it!

How does the Set for Life game work?

As the Set for Life game is a little different to other lottery games, you may be wondering how it works.

Instead of a one-off weekly draw, the Set for Life draw takes place at 9:00pm AEST/10:00pm AEDT every night. You can purchase a ticket any day of the week and be entered in the Set for Life draw for the next 7 days — just make sure you purchase your ticket before the cut-off time of 8:55pm AEST/9:55pm AEDT.

How do I win the Set for Life game?

There are 8 Set for Life Divisions. In the Set for Life draw, 7 main numbers and 2 supplementary numbers are randomly selected. These numbers are between 1 and 44, and you need to match all 7 main numbers in order to win the Division 1 prize. To win the lowest Division (Division 8), you only need to match 3 main numbers and 1 supplementary number. The odds of winning Set for Life Division 1 are 1 to 38,320,568. Set for Life Divisions

Within the 8 Set for Life Divisions, Division 1 has the biggest prize pool. If you win Division 1, you will be entitled to $200,000 upfront, plus $20,000 each month for 20 years. If you win Division 2, you will win $20,000 upfront, plus $5,000 each month for 12 months.

The other Set for Life Divisions act more like a traditional lotto game. That is, if you’re lucky enough to win any of the other Divisions between 3 and 8, you’ll walk away with a tax-free, one-off payment that you can spend on whatever you like! See the current Set for Life Divisions.

Set for Life Division rules

What if there is more than one winner of Division 1? If there are four or less Division 1 winners in a game, then each winner will still receive $200,000 upfront, plus $20,000 each month for 20 years. However, in the case of there being more than four winners, each winner will receive an equal share of the maximum total sum each month for 20 years. So even if you do end up sharing your prize with other lucky Set for Life winners, you’ll still be able to enjoy a tax-free payment every month for 20 years!

When will I get my Set for Life winnings?

If you’re lucky enough to win the ultimate Division 1 prize, then you will receive your $200,000 payment upfront, and your $20,000 monthly payment will be made on the 15th of every month — otherwise known as ‘$20K Day’! Winners of Division 2 will also receive their payments on the 15th.

If you win one of the other Set for Life Divisions, then your prize payment will automatically be deposited into your Oz Lotteries online account.
