Imagine being a millionaire winner and not even knowing. This was the case for two very lucky gentlemen.
The first man, from Rockhampton, was yet to learn he was the winner of a Division 1 prize of $1,009,441.97! He had purchased a ticket in Saturday Gold Lotto on the 7th October 2017. There was a region-wide appeal for buyers to check their entries in hopes of finding the mystery winner. It took over a month for the down-to-earth man to discover he was the rightful winner of a million dollars. After speaking with a lottery official, he was in absolute shock. “How much was the amount again? I’ll have to have a think about it and see what I can do with it,” he laughed.
The man had purchased a 12-game QuickPick entry and never checked his ticket. Something he said he will need to do. Incredibly, while the ticket was registered, the man’s details weren’t up to date. This means there was no way of contacting him to deliver the amazing news!
Another man from the Sunshine Coast was also unaware that his 18-game QuickPick had him sitting on $2 million dollars for the past month. His entry was one of two Division 1 winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3781 on the 14th October 2017. Each took home a division one prize of $2,008,468.44.
There have been many cases of winning entries going unclaimed due to tickets being unregistered. Could one of them be yours?
