A Rockhampton mum is still in disbelief after discovering she had won $25 million in the Oz Lotto draw. After several missed calls from lottery officials, the woman in her 40s decided to call back. 

While on the phone to officials, she screamed to her family, “We’ve won the lottery! We’ve won $25 million!” 

“I’m in my pyjamas. We haven’t even had breakfast yet! I saw I had some missed calls. My phone was on silent last night as I get scam texts.” 

Celebrating with her family, she shared that her winning 50-game QuickPick entry was a last minute purchase after seeing the large jackpot. She admitted that upon seeing the missed calls that morning, she had joked to her husband that it could be officials calling about this very news! 

The mother was in tears and explained that she had been cuddling her family throughout the call. When officials asked if she has any plans for the prize money, she was sure of one thing.

“We haven’t been having much fun in recent times. Now, we’re going to have a nice life. The first thing I want to do is buy a new car for my husband. He drives around an ancient old car. I’m going to get myself a new house. I can only think of practical things at the moment. It just doesn’t feel real.”
