$30 Million Powerball: This Thursday Could Be Your Lucky Break

Blog Powerball 030 M [1164x450]

Thursday nights are for big dreams, and this week’s Powerball jackpot is sitting pretty at $30 million. Draw 1651, will be closing Thursday, 2 October at 7:27pm AEST  (8:27pm AEDT) on Oz Lotteries. That’s not just pocket change, it’s “call the movers, life’s about to get an upgrade,” kind of money.

How to Play Powerball?

Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Pick seven numbers.
  2. Add one Powerball number.
  3. Sit tight until Thursday night’s results, when the draw reveals if you are our next millionaire!

Want to increase your chances of winning? Grab a PowerHit, it locks in the winning Powerball number for you (no guesswork needed).

How Powerball Works?

Two barrels holding your shot at the dream:

  • Barrel One: 7 numbers drawn from 1 to 35.
  • Barrel Two: 1 Powerball drawn from 1 to 20.

There are 9 prize divisions in total. Match just 2 numbers plus the Powerball, and you’ve got yourself a prize. But to take home Division 1, you’ll need all 7 numbers and the Powerball.

When Are Results Drawn?

The draw happens every Thursday night at roughly 8:30pm AEST  (9:30pm AEDT). Once the numbers land, you’ll find the full results on the Oz Lotteries website and app.

No need to stress about missing it, we’ll let you know if you’ve won. Smaller wins trigger an email, and for the big ones, you’ll get the call (the one that makes your heart skip a beat).

Why It’s Worth a Shot?

Powerball jackpots start at $5 million and can climb to a record-smashing $150 million. This week it’s $30 million, and that’s plenty to rock your socks, buy the beach shack, or just stock the fridge with a lifetime supply of Tim Tams. Draw 1651 is your shot at a seven-figure win that could reshape the way you see Thursdays forever.

Real-Life $30 Million Moments

This isn’t a hypothetical dream, it’s happened for other regular Aussies before:

  • Melbourne “dream numbers” win (Feb 2025): A couple in Point Cook played numbers revealed to them in a dream. They held the only Division 1 entry, and because they bought a PowerHit, they also landed 19 Division 2 wins in the same draw. Their total haul: ~$30,440,758.20. The Lott - Media Centre
  • NSW shared jackpot (June 2017): Powerball’s $30 million was shared by two Division 1 entries, one in Cabramatta, and one syndicate in Newcastle. Each took home $15 million plus bonus divisions. The Lott

These wins show how varied the winners' stories are, sometimes a single ticket, sometimes a PowerHit or a shared victory.
