Through your support, the funds raised ensure that each and every training requirement is delivered so that our team always deliver the best possible outcome, regardless of the situation.
As a charity organisation, LifeFlight has always relied on the support from the community to raise the vital funds needed to help meet the operating costs of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue service. Without this support, LifeFlight simply couldn’t continue the aeromedical service. LifeFlight brings emergency, lifesaving medical treatment to seriously ill and injured people. The purpose has always been the same – to save lives and support people living in, and visiting, Queensland during their time of need. This purpose is at the core of everything LifeFlight does.
Operating in often challenging environments where on-the-ground medical treatment can be 100 kilometres or more away, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters have flown more than 56,000 missions over four decades, delivering rapid response critical care: from responding to motor vehicle accidents and patient retrievals from ships at sea to neo-natal and cardiac hospital transfers.

The money raised through LifeFlight Lotteries will assist in continuing to serve the community through the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters by bringing the hospital to you, no matter where or when. The doctors and paramedics provide lifesaving medical care in the most challenging of environments – up to 6,000ft above sea level!
Every day, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews treat seriously ill and critically injured patients, while providing rapid-response airlifts to hospitals around the state.

Since 1979, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue has come to the aid of over 62,000 people.
Every dollar raised will help keep the crew in the sky, saving lives.
- $50 = an Emergency Breathing System (EBS) vest for EBS training
- $100 = a water safety helmet for helicopter underwater escape training
- $180 = a stretcher belt to secure patients during flight (four belts required per stretcher)
- $230 = enough fuel to power an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopter for 100km
- $400 = a cooling vest to be worn under PPE
- $720 = a complete set of stretcher belts
- $900 = an Emergency Breathing System bottle
- $2,000 = a specialized refrigerator used to store blood supplies on the aircraft
- $4,000 = a flight helmet for our RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews
