About Kidney Health Australia
Established in 1968 as the Australian Kidney Foundation, Kidney Health Australia is the national peak body for kidney disease and promotes good kidney health through delivery of education, advocacy, research and support.
Kidney Health Australia is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people with kidney disease, with a view to improving their health outcomes and quality of life. They have given long-term commitment to families and children affected by kidney disease, but the biggest challenge remains to reach those two million Australians who do not know they have early kidney damage.
Your generosity could change a life.
Kidney Health Australia is funded almost entirely by donations, fundraising and other charitable income.
Buying a ticket in the Kidney Health Lottery goes towards helping Australians affected by this disease and their carers and families. People who suffer from kidney disease require support to help them through simple day-to-day activities, particularly in managing access to and provision of dialysis treatments.
Every day, 60 Australians die with kidney-related disease. If kidney disease is detected early, it can either be halted or progression to end stage kidney disease can be slowed by as much as 50%. In some cases it can even be reversed. Getting this message out to Australians will save lives.
Unlike other popular national charities, 98% of Kidney Health Australia’s funds are raised through community support. With your help, Kidney Health Australia can continue to raise awareness of kidney health, as well as maintain their important work in research, education, advocacy and support.
