Retired Queenslander Wins $2 Million in Saturday Lotto!
1 min read
A retired woman from Proserpine in North Queensland was overjoyed when she found out she was a Saturday Lotto winner! She had won more than $2,000,000 Division 1 in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
“I can’t believe it still! I’m still on cloud nine!” the woman said when officials broke the news to her.
“I saw the numbers on the TV on Saturday night. I read them through about six times! My family had a look too! When we saw the prize was $2 million, I said ‘oh my God!’”.
The Saturday Lotto winner explained this win had come at the perfect time as she can now help family members who suffered damages to their property as a result of Cyclone Debbie earlier in the year.
“We’ve had a bit of a hard time with the old cyclone… everyone was affected. I don’t know of anyone who wasn’t affected. It certainly made a mess of us. It was a dreadful cyclone.”
This was not the first time the lucky woman has won the lottery. She won a smaller Division 1 prize in Saturday Lotto more than two decades ago.
“I have won a few small prizes too, but this one’s still hard to get over!” she said laughing.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her winning 12-game QuickPick ticket from a local newsagency in Proserpine, 600km south of Cairns .
She was one of two Division 1 winners nationally from last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw, one in Queensland and one in Victoria, each winning a prize of $2,047,344.47.
The six winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3743 on Saturday 3 June 2017 were 21, 32, 35, 9, 30 and 27. The supplementary numbers were 20 and 31.
