Three Australians woke up to a brand new life as multi-millionaires after sharing in the August 18, 2015, $60 Million Oz Lotto jackpot. The Division 1 winning tickets were purchased in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia. Each had $20 million prize money attached! A bright future is on the horizon for all of the $60 Million Oz Lotto winners, including a syndicate of 5 members from Darwin.
The identities of the 5 winners are not yet known, but they each bought a share in the Oz Lotto syndicate from a local newsagency. Lottery officials are encouraging players in Darwin to check their syndicate tickets and come forward to claim their $4 million prizes if they match all 7 winning numbers.
A man in his twenties received a thrilling phone call this morning. His online 50-game Quickpick landed him a Division 1 prize and made him a millionaire. The young man apparently received “the shock of his life” when lottery officials told him he’d won $20 million.
“Oh my god!” he exclaimed. “Are you serious right now?”
The ecstatic winner is located in the Brisbane suburb of Inala. He said he had studied hard at school in pursuit of a job, but his real passion was travel. Up until now, he said, he hadn’t had enough money to pursue his travel dreams. But his Oz Lotto windfall was about to change all that.
“Top of my list is Alaska, Canada, and all over Northern America,” he said. “I have a full bucket list of places I want to travel to around the world.”
The young man said he wanted to ensure his family was set up with “everything they need” before he jetted off. He did add that they would be “very jealous!”
Western Australia’s winning streak continued with the third and final Division 1 winner in the $60 Million Oz Lotto draw. The state has seen a string of Division 1 wins in the past few months. This includes the $50 million Powerball winner in July, $30 million Oz Lotto winner in May, and $10 million Powerball winner just last week.
The winning ticket was reportedly purchased from a local newsagency in Perth by a single lotto player.
