$15 Million Oz Lotto Winner is Gobsmacked

“It’s absolutely life-changing!”

Retirement has become a reality for a Melbourne man in his sixties after he scooped the entire $15 Million Oz Lotto jackpot on Tuesday the 29th of September. The lucky winner, who apologised for being “totally gobsmacked” when contacted by lottery officials, said that he intended to take stock of his affairs first but was looking forward to his “new-found free time”. Once the news of his new multi-millionaire status had sunk in, that is!

“I’m not sure this is real because it’s too good to be true!” he said, even asking lottery officials if the call was a hoax. “I was just pottering around this morning and now I discover I’ve won $15 million!”

The $15 Million Oz Lotto winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he was in the habit of having a “dabble” in lotto in his down time from work, but didn’t expect to land a Division 1 prize with his 9-game Quickpick. “This certainly was a very lucky trip to the newsagency!” he said. The winning ticket was purchased from a local newsagency in Camberwell.

When asked what he planned to do with the multi-million dollar windfall, the man said he’d “love to take a leisurely trip to Europe or South Africa”. But he also intends to help others, including paying off his children’s HECS debts and donating to charity. He speculated that with so much free time on his hands, he would be able to do some volunteer work to give back to the community.

A syndicate of Oz Lotteries members was also celebrating after winning over $83,000 in last Tuesday’s draw. The group played a System 11 ticket and won numerous prizes in Divisions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. They were only 1 number off matching all 7 winning numbers needed to win Division 1 in Oz Lotto. The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1128 were 34, 26, 1, 10, 12, 3 and 42, plus supplementary numbers 4 and 20.
