$10,000,000 Powerball Winner Finds Ticket In Wallet

“I got the fright of my life!” said the missing Powerball winner.
A young dad from Springwood on Brisbane’s southside had the shock of his life. The man held the missing $10,000,000 Powerball winning ticket in his wallet – but had forgotten it was there!
He explained how he was cleaning out his wallet on Monday morning following the Powerball draw. He found a few old lotto tickets and decided to check the numbers online.
“When I checked this ticket, I was stunned. I wasn’t sure so I checked it again and again. I just couldn’t believe it.”
“I’m just so overwhelmed,” he said while shedding happy tears.
The man, a dad in his 30s who works as a tradie, was unaware of the win. Lottery officials had been on the hunt for last week’s Powerball winner and were eager to deliver the winnings of $10,658,989.09. The ticket won prizes in multiple divisions.
The 18-game QuickPick was purchased from a local newsagency in Springwood. The stunned Powerball winner said he was not a regular lotto player. “I only buy lotto tickets every now and then. I thought I’d buy this Powerball ticket because it was a big jackpot.”
He admitted that he had “no idea” what he and his family would do with the life-changing windfall. Just that it would be big!
“I feel like I don’t know if this is true or just a dream!”
The winning numbers from Powerball draw 1123 on the 24th of November, 2017 were 39, 17, 36, 35, 27 and 33 plus Powerball number 7.
The winning man from Springwood held the only Division 1 winning ticket in last Thursday’s draw. This means he takes home the entire jackpot, plus prizes in other divisions.
